Isabelle SOCHET is Professor at INSA Centre Val de Loire, Bourges, in France. She is attached to the laboratory PRISME (Multi-field Research laboratory in Systems and Mechanical Engineering, Energy). Prof. Isabelle is engineer and obtained the doctorate in 1993 at the University of Orleans, France. The dissertation concerns Diffusion and Detonability of non-uniform gaseous mixtures. She becomes Assistant Professor during the period 1994 – 2004 and obtains the graduation of Full professor in 2004. Prof. Isabelle is Member of international committee "International Symposium on Hazards, Prevention, and Mitigation of Industrial Explosions" and “Military Aspects of Blast and Shock” symposium.
Two essential gaseous explosions are exposed in industrial risk: deflagration and detonation. The purpose of presentation is to understand the phenomenology, the establishment conditions, the mechanism of propagation and the effects of a deflagration and a detonation.
